Cēsis is a "must-see" on your list of exploring Latvia outside Riga. The order castle and the old town is on the Unesco World Heritage list. If you go there during summer, you will also have the opportunity to visit the Cēsis art festival, an annual event showing contemporary art, especially Latvian, Estonian and Lithuanian. This exhibition is situated in the abandoned buildings of Cēsis brewery, making the old rooms a part of the exhibition.
The theme for this year's exhibition "Take Care" is the financial crisis that hit hard in the Baltics, especially in Latvia. Enjoy some of the highlights of the exhibition:
Cēsis Old Brewery
Andris Breze - The Station of Desire
As you enter this room, the shopping cart crashes on to the piano keyboard.

A really beautiful installation. On these screens many different people are talking about their magic life.

Visible Solutions - Exterior Space for Interiors "Clarity"
Zone for relaxation. But as you enter the room the "no walking on grass" sign lights up and heavy rock is played loud
Visible Solutions - Adam Smith's Pet Invisible Hand in a Cage
You can not see what is running the wheel, but on the infrared screen you see the invisible hand running in the wheel
Valts Kleins - The Truth and Lie (Entropy)
