Roa had to fight with the wind, the rain, the seagulls and this difficult wall to get his painting done in time. He did not choose an easy task either, but the largest mammal, the carcass of a whale. As the coastal ferry Hurtigruten enter the harbour the passengers will not see it, but the cannot avoid seeing it when they leave Vardø. Unfortunately I was not there anymore when the mural was finished.
