Margarida Paiva: Erase

Erase
Margarida Paiva
Monthly, Nesodden south of Oslo
6.-30.5.12
Video and photo about disappearing identity
+ performance by Roghieh Asgara Torvund at the opening

Crossing the fjord south of Oslo, and then about 10km by bus south to a place called Torget at Nesodden, is this artist studio collective. They also have their project space, called Monthly, with monthly exhibitions. This month is a video by Portugese Margarida Paiva. A quiet, touching movie about identity, where the protagonist mostly is a whole person, while all others are faint shadows floating through the landscape. Even the protagonist is temporary splitting in two faint halves, but regains her wholeness.

At the opening Roghieh Asgara Torvund performed a Muslim ritual with focus on every movement, entering a state of meditation and reflection. A touching experience.
