Usually movies show movement and photos freeze the moment. Eli Glader turns it the other way around. The videos shows stillstand. People are walking, fishing or just relaxing on the pier, as they have done for years, and generations before them. The interior of a home shown is equally silent and still. The inhabitant is probably out on the pier.
Then in the next room is a myriad of newspaper and magazine clips showing the massive contrasts and varieties of the world. Here are rich and poor, powerful and helpless, all side by side. They all are individuals, living their lives, aware of others living other lives. Here is movement, action, confrontation and contrast.
