Prints of urban landscapes

The urban landscapes of Anita Tjemsland are just fascinating. There are the aspects of recognition, whether it is about recognising places or just objects. Then there are the choices of composition, the choices of what to include and what to exclude of a massive cityscape. But also the choices of which objects to include, down to the level of which lines to draw.

I can imagine that the choices to be made are as time-consuming as the intricate process of making these pictures. In a special process of burning the lines into plastic, and manually removing the ink from the light spaces, each print of the same plate is unique.

I get exited by the details where the detailed lines are just not in line with perfect geometry, I enjoy how the street continues into the sky, I am amused by the cars so easily but effectively outlined, and I love to see her interpretation of the beautiful area of East Stavanger along Pedersgata beneath the bridge.
