798 Art Zone in Beijing

The 798 Art Zone is an former military factory area in the outskirts of Beijing. The factory buildings are transformed into studios, galleries and cafes. A large area with a really wide range of contemporary art. Would have loved to spend much more time/days here, have to get back some time.

The area was facing demolishing plans, but the plan changed, and hopefully the area will stay and develop as it is for a long time to come. Don't miss it if you visit Beijing, more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/798_Art_Zone

Difficult to choose between all the galleries

One of my favourite streetart pieces - knit art

Installation by Antony Gormley - shot before the guards stopped me

Inviting entrance

One of the strong impressions - the exhibition by Wen Fang
