(Almost) abstract large paintings
Huge paintings in familiar Elken style: thick layers of paint in a very limited range of colors, almost black and white. Long brushstrokes and strong emotions. But for the viewer who takes a closer look, scenes appear among the brushstrokes. These are everyday scenes from Cuba, showing decay and ruins, all fitting well into the paintings and the installations of demolished concrete.
