Elizabeth Croft shows us our ordinary Norwegian culture seen through her eyes. This is shocking, surprising and amusing. The hopelessly empty sentences we are so used to that we take for granted, the strange expressions we use, the everlasting naive optimism, the worn out phrases of advertising, the visual language... and the rear end of trucks!
With such simple means, found pictures, everyday phrases, photos of ever-present trucks, the impact is even stronger. Good comedy often let us laugh of ourselves. We might also ask is this is acceptable, or if we need to change some of our ways. There is an immediateness in using the advertising language, but placed in the gallery setting the deeper meaning shines through.
