6th Tallinn Applied Art Triennal

Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design, Tallinn
The 6th Tallinn Applied Art Triennal is a festivity of great design and great ideas joined. Large spaces on two floors of the museum, plus a performance moving through the corridor, provide space for a vast variety of artwork. The theme is collections or collecting, and all artworks are somehow connected to this topic. Here are some of my favourites:

The design of the exhibition space is also interesting, wooden frames in the medieval vaulted halls.

Jane Perkins (UK): The Statue of Liberty; Made in China
Krista Leesi (EST): Money Laundering (Gender Equality)
Underwear made from now useless money, the Estonian Kroon that was exchanged for Euro a year ago.
Virginija Kirveliene (LT): The Covers of the City Kaunas
A5 - Annika Petterson (S), Adam Grinovich (US), Romina Fuentes (ARG): Aeon Profit / Piano Forte"
All these items are parts of a piano, even the strings.
Elisabeth Billander (S): Souvenirs (or the creative mind plays with the object it loves)
Jaanus Samma: T03.1. "Georg is a Fag"
Text from the street is taken in use as a statement on a knitted sweater. A great idea that was also awarded by the jury.

A performance of 70 women walked up and down the stairs, wearing white to purple clothing, each a shade darker than the one before.
