1st year at KiR - Rogaland Art School
6.-16.11.14
Rogaland Kunstsenter, Stavanger
Site specific group exhibition
What is needed to make great art? Talent? Education? Communication skills? Or just pure luck?
This was what I asked myself after visiting the exhibition by the 1st year students at Rogaland Art School. After 2 months at school they made this site specific exhibition at Rogaland Art Center. Has the school had some extreme-intensive education to come forward with these artists, or has it been very carefully selecting only the best applicants? Or is this rather a collection of artists with great talent and communication skills, maybe combined with a portion of luck?
As you understand, I am very enthusiastic about this exhibition. Both by experiencing great art, and by knowing that such artists develop in our town. I may also have been seduced by their skills to communicate their art, both at the spot and in the media.
The exhibition is a wild mix of different styles, techniques and topics. Here is an overview:

Irene Gellein: Chaud au lait dans le cul
- Google translates this to "Hot milk in the ass".
