Tou Camp: Kunsthall Showcases

Kunsthall Showcases

1.6.-1.7.12
Tou Scene, Stavanger
Art institutions in Stavanger present artists in the Beer Halls at Tou Scene

Hall #1
Prosjektrom Normanns presents:
Sigmund Skard (No) / Leander Djønne (No) / Tora Dalseng (No) / Odd Sama (No) / Rebecca Mir (US) / Monika Wührer (US): Beginning

An interesting approach: The artists provide the background information and the descriptions of how to build the artwork. The materials and tools are provided as well. The actually work is supposed to be done by the random visitors. In this way the final result may be quite different from the original idea. How much this may differ depends on the description, the visitor's perception, and the visitor's skills. During the first night some works were already built:

Different installations made by visitors, a pigeon cage and a puzzle.

Hall #2
Galleri Opdahl presents:
Per Dybvig

The artist has really taken all of the room in use, drawing his incredible universe of dangerous hares, building schemes, maps of non-existing places, and more. I just love how he incorporates the features of the room in his drawings, like the light switch, cracks, holes.

Famous for his public murals, artist Jaz from Buenos Aires spent only two days in Stavanger painting before heading on to Bergen. His mural depicts wrestlers in alert positions, making up the star sign of Ursa Major - the constellation showing the way to the Northern Star.
